Greetings.
Welcome to the second edition of the .fw-youth newsletter.
My name is still Chris Juby and I still I look after the Family Worship website.
The pattern for these missives is hereby established as: I'll gather up all kinds of bits of information on the scene from the UK and beyond, get excited about good music and books, find interesting interweb links, free stuff...that kind of thing, and attack you with them at irregular intervals...if that's ok?!
Your subscriber details are at the end.
Delirious? have released two new tracks on the internet - Majesty (Here I am) and Rain Down - to preview material from their new album 'World Service'.
Both tracks make full use of Delirious? trademark anthemic brooding-verse/soaring-chorus dynamics, but the edgy production of their most recent material is now married with the clearer lyrical content of the Cutting Edge and King of Fools albums.
In their own words:
"We were simply intent on writing a collection of words and melodies that went deeper than we'd ever gone before. The studio sessions were intense but exhilarating as we sensed early on that this wasn't going to be just 'another album'."
'World Service' is due for release on December 15th in the UK and February 10th in the US. You can preorder the album, view the tracklist and download the preview songs and guitar chords at the official Delirious? website.
In the last couple of months we've completely redesigned our Songwriters Showcase. It's all run off a database now, which means there's room for growth... which means more free music.
The songs are all organised by style now, so you guys may want to check out the Contemporary/Rock section. I want this section to grow...there must be songwriters and bands out there amongst you all!? Fill in the form and get your stuff up there.
My Showcase Artist heads-up for this issue is Tony Willis - well written, well arranged contemporary worship songs.
