"Originally from England, I now live and work in Hamilton Ontario Canada, and travel to numerous different churches on a mission to multiply praise and promote unity. For 16 years I have been involved in leading worship, with about 8 years as the worship team leader in a local church responsible for up to 24 singers and musicians on 3 worship teams. I am now involved in itinerant ministry, crossing denominational and international boundaries. The song "God Has An Army" is not really a "warfare song" in the usual sense. It was written at a time of renewal and refreshing, when God seemed to be restoring people in preparation for His works. When the people of Israel were first delivered from Egypt, they came out as a nation - a people chosen and belonging to God. At the same time God began to refer to them as an army, which would do battle against His enemies. We're all called to it. Yet sometimes it seems that the Church needs to rise up and shine. When we do that, equipped with God's Spirit, we are a formidable force in His might, extending hope and help and the blessings of God to those who are lost, and need to know the saviour."
