The sun is rising
Miriam Kook

There were two days in my life that seemd like the same day: the same motions and emotions were required of me. These were our first child's first day of kindergarten and first day of college. As I said goodbye to her at the two doors, I mentally whispered to her, "Remember everything that we've worked through, talked about, cried over. Remember what God has taught you through it all. Remember......

The sun is rising on this day
Excitement shining in your eyes
My how time flies
I pin a sign upon your heart
To tell them where you live and who you are

As the teacher meets you at the door
You shake her hand and say hello
I guess I should go
You show her your teddy bear
I hesitate and leave you there
Whispering a little prayer

CHORUS
Remember what we taught you
Remember what we practiced
Remember even when it seems all wrong
God is the composer
He's writing you a love song
Each day will be the melody
But you must learn the harmony to life's song

The sun is rising on this day
But you were ready hours ago
For today you will go
We put your luggage in the car
The tags say where you live and who you are

As your roommate meets you at the door
You shake her hand and say hello
I guess I should go
The room it looks so very bare
I hesitate and leave you there
Whispering a little prayer

CHORUS
Remember what we taught you
Remember what we practiced
Remember even when it seems all wrong
God is the composer
He's writing you a love song
Each day will be the melody
But you must learn the harmony to life's song
