I look up
Miriam Kook

Did you ever have one of those days when you couldn't understand where God was in the midst of your difficulty?
When we really need to know, that's when He shows us!

Taken from Num. 21:4-9

Life didn't start well this morning
Fighting without and within
All of my fears rushed out with my tears
As I felt again the bite of sin

I put my keys on the table
I put my head in my hands
Lord are you there in the midst of despair?
There's so much that I don't understand

CHORUS
So I look up to see you hanging on a cross
What for? I wonder why you had to die
But as I stare in the air, I see my sins hanging there
Take me with you past the grave, I don't want to be a slave anymore
I look up, and I see you opening the door.........

After they passed through the Red Sea
God's presence with them day and night
Still how they fussed, they were so low on trust
That He let them feel the serpent's bite

We too are promised His presence
His Holy Spirit dwells within
But something is wrong, in our hearts there's a strong
Disposition toward sin and not toward Him.

CHORUS
So I look up to see you hanging on a cross
What for? I wonder why you had to die
But as I stare in the air, I see my sins hanging there
Take me with you past the grave, I don't want to be a slave anymore
I look up, and I see you opening the door
I look up, and I know who Calvary was for
