Barb Harmatys was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta Canada in 1959. She has remained an "Albertan" all her life, now residing in the small town of Tofield (40 minutes east of Edmonton) with her two children Peter Jr. (17 yrs.) and Chelsea (13 yrs.)
Barb has always loved music, with the flute being the first instrument she learned at the age of 13. After becoming a Christian, she picked it up again after 20 years, playing as part of the worship trio at her church. Her love for singing prompted her to take up guitar (at age 38) and a few years later, she wrote her first song. As the Lord began to heal the past hurts of her childhood, she started to have the desire to minister to others through her music. Once again, the Lord miraculously intervened to bring about the CD "Mirabelle's Promise".
She is now actively involved in many facets of music ministry; church worship leader, community worship band leader, and healing music ministry (re; CD Mirabelle's Promise). Most recently she has launched "Open Stage for the Middle-Aged", a coffee house jam session for middle-aged musicians. It is this project that is most exciting for her, as it is an outreach to other musicians, most of whom do not know Christ.
