 Welcome to the FW Newsletter
It's been around 3 months since our last newsletter, so a very warm welcome to all new subscribers. We've had a busy start to 2004 (both online, and in the real world!) The FW website features some brand new features, so if you haven't visited for a while, we'd love to see you online, and especially in the FW Forum, which has some great recent discussion threads.

With just a couple of weeks until Easter, I'm sure your services and activites are taking shape. If you are looking for some fresh songs, drama scripts, or ideas for your services, then do check out our Easter Resources page. There's also a brand new songbook out from Kevin Mayhew Ltd this year - "Easter Source", featuring a wonderful range of traditional hymns and new songs. We're especially pleased that they have included 6 songs from Family Worship, including our most popular Easter songs: "Jesus, thank you for the cross" & "Whiter than the snow", and a powerful new Easter hymn: "See the love of God poured out (Look to the cross)"

 The Passion of the Christ - film opens in the UK
Mel Gibson's powerful, and controversial, film of the trial and crucifixion of Jesus opens this weekend in the UK. It's been out for some weeks in the US and other parts of the world, and has provoked a very strong response. I saw it in a preview for London church leaders last week, and it is certainly shocking, gripping, and very well made. I can understand all of the various extreme reactions that people have had, but for me personally, the main thing it left in my mind was astonishment at the depth of God's love for me. It carries an 18 certificate in the UK, so children and teenagers under 18 will be unable to see it. As a parent, I would certainly urge other parents to see if for themselves first, before deciding whether to allow their children to see it, in countries where the certificate may be different. We have a discussion topic underway in the FW forum if you would like to share your own thoughts, reactions and questions, and I'm sure you will be praying that the film draws people to the love of God and a personal relationship with him.

 New Youth Resources section
Chris Juby has recently launched a brand new section on the FW site dedicated to links and resources for youth work. As well as a links database, which will be growing over time, there is an email newsletter, featuring reviews of music and other youth-oriented resources. Sometimes "all age worship" can end up meaning "all age, except the teenagers!" so we're committed to making sure that this crucial age group in the church has the very best of our time, attention and resource.

 FW Roadshows
A new section on the website shows more details now about the areas and churches we are visiting with the FW Roadshow over the coming months, as well as reports of recent Roadshows. We're booked up to the end of August, and have some provisional dates for the autumn, but can fit in a couple more churches before the end of the year, so if you are interested, then check out the Roadshow page and drop Chris an email.

 Songbook and FW Special Offer
We hope to have some news soon on the new FW CD - the long-awaited "Get into the Word" album! In the meanwhile, our latest CD, FW4 "Rising Generation" is on special offer in the online shop when bought alongside the FW complilation songbook. The CD features 23 songs, and the songbook 100 songs, ideal for Sunday mornings and other times when all ages are together.
