MySpace and YouTube

Thought it was high time to get something going on the new and incredibly popular “social networking sites”, so I’ve made start with a page at MySpace, and have loaded our Christmas video to YouTube.

If you have a MySpace profile, please do let me know so I can add you as a friend, and of course I’d love you to add my site, which is looking a little sad and lonely right now - I guess everyone feels like that at the start…!

Have to say that the video plays much more clearly at MySpace - they were both uploaded from the same source.

Thanks for checking the new sites out.

Roadshow Report - River Church, Maidenhead, 3 December 2006

Not our normal Roadshow this time - we were invited by old friends (well, not that old), Chris & Judith Forster, to do the children’s programme as part of a new event at River Church, a group of thriving churches in the Maidenhead area.

Titled the Big Gathering, the day was held at the local leisure centre, and was designed as a relaxed, friendly event, ideal to invite friends to, and for the whole church to gather.

FW Pirates! For some obscure reason, despite the nearness to Christmas, the theme for the children was Pirates and Princesses, so used as they are to unusual requests from me, the team rose to the challenge of dressing up accordingly!

We had some fun, and think the kids did too, and it was a fun way to end the year on the road. Huge thanks for all the hard work in 2006 to Roadshow regulars Sue, Sophie, Josie, David, Bethan and Neil, and to other friends who have joined us through the year including Richard & Caro, Pete, and Sandy and Andrea.

We are booking now for 2007, so if you would like to explore the possiblity of Family Worship Resources leading a service, or taking a children’s event, or running some workshops, or whatever, then do drop us an email - more details on the Roadshow page.

Quick update

It’s been a few months since I last posted, so sorry for the long gap to anyone who kindly subscribes to this Blog, or checks the site regularly.

After Revive in the summer, we spent several weeks visiting a close friend in hospital who had had a life-threatening epileptic fit and heart attack. It was very serious for the first week or two, but he made a quite amazing recovery, and so we are very grateful for answered prayers, and for his extraordinary fighting spirit.

During the autumn we have been busy visiting churches with roadshows, and the new material from iPray seems to be going down very well, so we are really looking forward to a proper launch for the CD in 2007.

Then a few weeks ago we had a mini-drama with a fire in our middle daughter’s bedroom! An electric radiator short circuited and caught alight. The smoke alarms did their job, and everyone was able to get out of the house unhurt straight away, and the fire brigade were very quick, but in the short time that the fire was blazing, it did an amazing amount of damage to the loft room, and most of Sophie’s clothes and possessions. We should just about be straight again by Christmas, so are really looking forward to the break, and a chance to reflect, and give thanks for God’s goodness.
