Clean Hands - Richard Swan

I’ve really been enjoying listening to this long-awaited album from Richard Swan, and will get a review up soon. In the meanwhile, check out the songs on Richard’s site, and if you like what you hear - buy the CD!

Happy New Year

I’ve learned over the years that new year resolutions don’t work that well for me, so I won’t be making any! But I do like to dream and plan at this time of year, and in relation to what 2006 holds for FW Resources, I’m certainly hoping to do more writing, maybe think about a recording or two, and am really looking forward to getting back on the road with the Roadshow.

Whatever 2006 holds for you, we’re praying that it will be a year when you see prayers answered, and know that God is very close, to you, your family, and those in your church, community, and nation.

Happy New Year!

Happy Christmas

Writing this on Christmas Eve, it’s been a really busy few weeks to end the year, and I’m grateful that it can slow down for 10 days or so now - we’re really looking forward to a quiet family Christmas at home. I’m a nostalgic person at heart, so love Christmas and the chance it gives to reflect on the past, and to look forward with hope.

It’s been a year marked with tremendous tragedy and suffering worldwide, and our thoughts and prayers are especially with those in Asia in the aftermath of the earthquake, those who have lost loved ones in the Tsumani a year ago, and those who have been affected by war, famine, poverty and sickness. In my home town of London, we remember those affected by July 7, and pray for healing and forgiveness.

We give thanks for a God who didn’t leave people to suffer alone, but chose to suffer with his people in the most incredible way, by becoming one of us. This Christmas, as with every Christmas, God still comes to those who are poor, needy, humble, and open-hearted. Praying whatever your needs are, that you will know God with you this Christmas.

A Narnia Nativity

Written for my home church’s carol service this year on the 18th December, the authors, Jane & Ian Butcher, have kindly allowed us to offer this drama script for free download and use in non-commercial contexts.

I admit having some doubts when I heard the idea of trying to link Narnia with the Nativity - OK, I know the books are very allegorical, but even so… However, I think they have done it very well, and am looking forward to seeing it live on the 18th!

Newsletter

Have finally got my act together to send out a newsletter - if you’re not already a subscriber, then do sign up via the box on the front page, or click here. When I started the FW site back in 1999, I used to send out a newsletter monthly. Those were the days of no spam, more free time, and a gentler, fresher, non-commerical feel to the Internet.
