 Fire
& Rain was the third release in the Family Worship series, and contains
a number of excellent songs, which have already been picked up and used
widely, for example in the Spring Harvest main songbook, as well as
their "Praise Mix" youth album, and also in "The Source"
- a new worship compilation songbook edited by Graham Kendrick. This
diversity of use of the songs reflects the broad appeal that the FW
material has for all ages.
The overiding theme of the album is a cry for the holy fire of God to fall again on the church, that the rain of the Spirit might fall on the nations. This prophetic cry ("fire on the church, rain on the nation") is based on the events of 1 Kings 18 when the prophet Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal to see which God would answer by fire. That preceded the end of a drought in the nation that had lasted 3 years. You can listen to samples of a number of the songs. Downloads
